What could be more uplifting than rediscovering the joy of getting dressed after a year in our trusty tracksuits. Back in September designers anticipated that in the post lockdown world we would want to come out from hibernation and have more fun with our outfits. The catwalks were abuzz with flamboyant designs, vibrant colours and feel-good prints. Fashion that makes you feel good, now we’re talking! The spring summer catwalk shows might seem like a lifetime ago, but with the gradual easing of lockdown and the sun finally coming out to play, we are starting to see some of the forecasted trends hit the streets. Here’s a little recap of the themes from the world's most influential fashion houses that have inspired us the most here at Beija.
Punchy Pinks
We couldn’t be happier to welcome pink back into our wardrobes. This was the stand-out colour on the catwalks and we are here for it. From the shocking to the subtle, pink is full of life and character.
Fuchsia speaks to our playful side, it is vibrant and joyous. [Check out Caught Up Fuchsia]. Pale Pink gives us gentle loving energy, it is calm and comforting. [Check out Stripes Pink]
Expressive Textures
As well as bold prints, the spring summer collections welcomed in rich textures to provide surface interest. At Beija we are all about designing for the pleasure of the wearer, not the viewer, so this trend is right up our street. Our designer and co-founder Abbie loves using fabrics that have a naturalistic element.

Sheer Delight
Light and floaty sheer fabrics also had their moment. Why do we like this trend? Other than the romance and fluidity of these pieces it just happens to entail bras on show! ‘Visible bras’ is actually a trend unto itself right now. Whether it is as simple as the straps and top of the bra visible under a dress or as experimental as layering a statement bra over a shirt. Practical Magic
There was definitely a nod to the desire to make more conscious decisions when it comes to our purchases. Wearable classics and basics with a twist are the order of the day. Our ethos at Beija is ‘buy less but buy better’, we don’t sell “special occasion lingerie” here, we’re about pieces that you will wear (nearly) every single day, that serve a multitude of purposes and work well beneath your clothes.
