Which Bras go best with your Summer Wardrobe

Which Bras go best with your Summer Wardrobe

By Naomi Attwood

Head spinning about which lingerie to pair with vests, slips and summer dresses? We have answers . . .

When it comes to styling your bra; deciding what bra to wear under summer dresses; which lingerie goes best with which outfit; whether to choose a lacy bra, sports bra, bralette, strapless bra from M&S, stick-on bra (no thanks), backless bra, Calvin Klein crop top; or even SKIMS shape wear bra, styling your lingerie to suit your summer wardrobe can be overwhelming. In reality, you can simplify the process using a few simple tips.Black non wired full support braSeeing your summer clothes again when temperatures start to rise is always a vibe; whether you store yours in the attic, under the bed or keep them handy all year round. Welcome back old friends you’d forgotten about - just needing a quick press and a party invite. Though it’s tempting to add loads of new pieces to cart at the start of each season – do you really need to? A great way to re-spin old pieces is with accessories and one of the best accessories is a good bra.Yellow braIn years gone by, we’ve all experimented with trying to make our bras invisible, trying uncomfortable solutions like strapless bras that dig in, stick on bras that, err, stick to your skin; or too-tight sports bras under vests. But the best kind of bra is a well-fitting and comfortable one. Having invested in quality, why hide it away? A peek of lace at the neckline or a colour-contrasting strap is nothing to worry about. In fact, you should show it off.

A good rule of thumb when matching bras to clothes if they are going to be seen is to pick a contrasting colour. So, wearing a white vest or loose-fitting white shirt, choose a black or navy bra. If wearing a blue or navy top or dress, why not brighten things up with a flash of yellow strap? Greens contrast with pinks and reds, blues clash with yellows and oranges and so on. If you want to match the shape of your bra to a racer-back vest you can utilise a simple J hook to join the two straps at the back. Simple, isn’t it? All you need now is some SPF.
